God's Agape Love Flows Through You

Is it true or does it just seems to being more prevalent in our world today that Love is taking a back seat to the whole of society? Has this pandemic and isolation, caused us to abandon Love and is it replaced with self-preservation? Don't watch the news. Maybe we still have a month or more near to Christmas where people are more caring and loving and it's probably due to the song that says; 'He knows when you've been bad or good'. This pandemic has thrown the whole world upside down. People today are more focused on themselves than anyone else in their little part of society. Then again we might be also struggling with compassion.

Individuals that I know and have been part of the church for years are themselves succumbed to trashing the word, 'love' from their vocabulary. The seventies idea of looking out for number one has become so ingrained in each successive generation, many individuals think love is only found in the bedroom. How sad.

I asked someone recently what the bible tells us about love. They mentioned the two most remembered verses in scripture right away: John 3:16, God loves us. And second 1 Corinthians 13. Love is . . . After that they had to struggle a little. Interestingly the bible tells us lots about living the life of Love. The three primary concepts told to us in scripture are Love God, Love each other and lastly, (the one people forget first), Love your enemies. Seems like Jesus' world knew the problem back then. By the way, Love in its many forms is mentioned 780 in The Book.

With all the crime in this world today, you would think everyone has abandoned having love, and compassion for our fellow human beings. But then we read in the bible how criminals even love and are loved by someone else. We are in desperate need to reinvent love in our world. A transformation if you will. We are not the first people to think about this. We know this by the amount of times our bible encourages us to love.

Now the hard part, are we part of the solution? Can we be the ones to add a little bit of love? Oh, by the way, "love your neighbour as yourself".

Something to think about.
