Getting Back: To Basics

09/27/2021

Over the last year or so, we have been engaged in something unusual. It's about realizing what is important in our life. Staying at home was not that easy. Let's just say, many of us still don't like the government telling us what to do. It's bad enough having to pay out more than 50% of our wages to taxes, one way or another. But listening has helped us make it this far.

But I saw and experienced something that seemed alien to me. There was and still is something refreshing about sitting back and finding ourselves like I said in a previous Monday blog. But staying at home and watching re-runs for months was not fun. But then again not much of this last year and a half was much fun, except, we discovered what was important. If you didn't realize that people are the most important part of life I would think you are from another planet.

The joy of knowing this is seen now in engaging in activities we can do together just like before. We are not totally out of the woods on this but we are getting there. There are times and places we can get out and participate with others in activities that are dear to our hearts. Your heart and my heart are the centrality of our whole existence. Yes, church attendance is one of them.

God told us He put a heart within each one of us that would change everything. We were no longer like Adam, sitting by the riverside all alone. There was someone else in our life, actually many others. And for us church people, we call it fellowship. And we Baptist bring a fork.

But there is something more. God didn't just give us a heart like Adam that needs someone else, He gave us a heart that would first seek after Him. In the last year we all had time to reflect on what is important, what a priority is and what is to be the main focus to give us life in abundance. And that is being loved by God and loving Him back then showing each other how to emulate, 'God Love', to each other.

Something to think about.
