Marching Orders

03/28/2022

Are you making a difference? Really? Through my blogs on Lent, I've come to realize that, yes, we need to work on ourselves first but then what? We can say we are better at being the Christian God intended us to be but. . . We have moved on to sharing our faith and looked for ways to show others how Christ can change a life. I also believe there is a point where we need to be the motivation to make a difference in the secular world.

It's been far too long for us to just sit in our bunkers and veg. We need to ask ourselves if we are those who want to make a difference in our world, impacting life for good and for God. For over two years we hunkered down saying to ourselves, life will never be the same. Then we ask God to take care of us and to keep us in this world. We had plans. We thought about all those things we wanted to do and experience in this life before it was our time. But it is our time. It's always been our time.

Then, just over a month ago, the war that we never wanted to see, raised its ugly head and those who know, told us again, even when this war is over, life will never be the same. But hasn't life been that way forever? Something comes along and life changes. This reminds me of a verse, there is only one thing that is constant, "God is the same, yesterday, today and forever".

Through all of this I think we lost something. I honestly think we forgot that Christ Followers are here to change the world for good and for God. Our churches are empty because we lost the ability to tell the world that Christ is the answer. We have even forgotten to do something. To do something that will bring joy, hope, love and faith back to the forefront. Where the world will know we are saying "the world will know we are Christians by our love".

We need to do more than just pray. We need to pray and then get busy doing what Jesus asked us to do, make a difference. Read Matthew 28. Then get up and get going. The world needs us, you and me now more than ever before and Christ is calling us to change the world. What are you going to do to make a difference?

Something to think about
