Worship Him

03/14/2022

Remember back to New Years? The weather was still nice and we were waiting for the cold weather to descend on us. But we also made resolutions. Usually they were something major. Things like stopping to do things that controlled our lives, like eating too much chocolate. But by Valentines, we had found the chocolate hearts and, well, you knew what happened and now we are looking for chocolate bunnies.

Easter is far from that. We crossed over Ash Wednesday where ashes coming from the burned palm leaves of last Easter were emblazoned across our forehead as a symbol of being a follower of Christ. This was the beginning of questioning more than those items we need to eliminate from our outward life to thoughts of what our lives are within.

Two weeks ago I reminded you to get rid of things in your life that need to be gone and encouraged you to take on things that change our hearts. These weeks of Easter are a back and forth struggle that when united together in a focus to be like Jesus, bring internal change. It's a change of heart, soul and spirit. When applied to the individual, it produces permanent change. Contrary to the big resolutions of New Years, these changes are small steps in the larger scale of things.

After two years of restrictions, and being apart, I believe the change we need right now it to return to the things that brought us closer to God in Christ. It's opening our bibles to discover what is in it that changed our lives in the first place. It's going and opening the entrance of the building that once held our hearts and lives. It's rebuilding our lives around all those people we left behind two years ago and get back to being the Family of God.

How ironic that two years ago we were totally separated from what is good and wonderful as Easter approached and now, after two years we can come back to all we still hold dear to our hearts. It has taken us two years to figure out what is really important, and it's not things. We now get to come into His house and worship Him, worship Him, Worship Christ The Lord!

Amen, something to think about

Rob
